" Trudy Jones spent two short periods as secretary to Daryl Chase, director of the university. The position of director was equivalent to the current university president. Her first stint was as a student employee, and the second was at the request of Chase after his regular secretary left the university. It was after her children were raised that Jones returned here to take classes to renew her secretarial skills. She was hired as secretary/ receptionist for the student health service in 1982, where she worked until her retirement in January. All five of her children have attended SUU. Four of her five children· in-law are SUU graduates. During her service with what has now been renamed the Wellness Center, Jones has watched (and helped) the department expand and move into impressive new offices in the Sharwan Smith Center. Morgan has worked in several different offices as a secretary during her 32 years at the university. She began that employment in 1966 after moving back to Cedar City from Lander, Wyo., following her husband's death. Ini tially, she worked as secretary to the dean of students and to the employees of the health and counseling services. She then spent 15 years as secretary/office manager for the department of infonnation services/sports information before she became the lead secretary for the technology department. She attended first through eighth grades in her hometown of New Hannony before moving to Cedar City to attend high school and SUU for two years. She also attended LOS Business College in Salt Lake City. Her employment has included stenographic-secretarial work in Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Lander, and Cedar City. Reeves, a .native of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, began her SUU employment at SUU in 1989 as secretary to both the departments of art and communication. After five years, growth in both departments resulted in Reeves moving exclusively to the communication department. Prior to her service at SUU, she developed, on her own volition, a uniform accident report form letter for the motor vehicle division of the British Columbia provincial government; set up a catalog/inventory system for a Canadian lumber and hardware company; and spent 17 years helping manage a family business, D & F Supply, in Cedar City. "My time at the university has been most enjoyable," she said. " l have had the privilege of working with wonderful, talented instructors, staff members, and great students. I have loved interacting with the students." All five of her children attended SUU for at least two years, and four graduated, one with a master's degree in accounting. .. . . ..
