In addition to the administrative computer system, Pryor said that equipment on campus that works on timers, such as the sprinkling and beating systems, will also need to be looked at as possible problem areas. "We are in the process of trying to identify what these things might be," said Pryor. It appears that SUU's monetary assets will be safe when the year 2000 comes around. According to Dorian Page, associate vice president and treasurer of administrative and financial services, SUV does the majority of its banking with First Security Bank, an institution which purportS to be addressing the Year 2000 Problem. Page said that the at a recent meeting with account holders, Spencer Eccles, CEO of First Interstate Bank, assured those present that the problem would be taken care of. "We're hoping not to have any major problems," said Pryor, "but we know there are some !problems] out there." On the whole, however, Pryor seemed optimistic about SUU's ability to deal with the Year 2000 issue in such a way as to allow the university to "make the transition into the 21st Century." "We hope that on January first of the year 2000 we will have a very comfortable day," he saiq.
