To warm things up, SUUSA has planned a plethora of activities for students to attend, including music concerts, Starlight Cafe performances, and Thunderweek activities, according to Tasha Adams, SUUSA activities vice president. “This winter quarter will be much more exciting than those in the past. That’s what we are aiming for—to get students more involved during the winter,” said Adams. The theme for Thunderweek is “The Untouchables” and will consist of various mobster-related activities including dances, entertainment, and games, according to Adams. Thunderweek began Tuesday with the Miss SUU Pageant. Tomorrow a gymnastics meet will be held at 7 p.m. in the Centrum followed by Starlight Cafe at 9:30 p.m. in the Starlight Room of the Sharwan Smith Center. “Starlight Cafe will feature juggler/comedian Mark Nizer, and tickets will be $1 with student L.D.,” said Adams. Other activities slated to wrap up Thunderweek include a tailgate party at 6:30 prior to the men’s and women'’s home basketball games. A “Mobster Mash” dance will be held in the Ballroom of the Sharwan Smith Center. The dance begins at 9 p.m. Admission is $2, but Adams said those who dress as a gangster or his “maul” will get in free. Nunsense, a “habit forming” play about the “little sisters of Hoboken,” began playing Tuesday and will run through Saturday, in the Randall Jones Theater at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a matinee performance Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $2 for students and, with a ticket stub from Nunsense, Adams said a student can get into any Thunderweek activity for free. A dance and the chance to experience the Illusion and Fusion Magic Motion Ride is part of the agenda for Tuesday, Feb. 3. “Its going to be very fun. The ride is a motion ride, but integrates Virtual Reality. It will be from 4 p.m. until 12 a.m. The ride is $2, but the dance is free,” said Adams. The College of Arts, Letters, and Humanities will be having its college week Feb. 17-21 and Founders’ Day is March 6. “There are a lot of things that are being planned for Founders’ Day. We are going to try to do some student showcases and some cool Starlight Cafe performances such as a New Orleans jazz group or an a capella group called ‘The Trenchcoats.” We have some good ideas in the works,” said Adams. o gent.s Eridal Shoey Friday January 30 th, 11a.m. - 7 p.m. Saturday January 31st, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Dixie Center Plan Your Wedding in Just One Day!
