Etients included an obstacle course and a dunk tank. Participants in che obstacle course competed in ewnts such as running chrough tires (above), guzzling rooc beer (cop right), and sliding down a Slip 'n' Slide (boctom righc). At che finish of che course, each team member goc to throw a pie inco che ceam captain's face (lefc). The winners of the obstacle course were the men's basketball ceam in firsc place, Phi Alpha Beca Accities in second place and Phi Alpha Beta Pledges taking chird. Throughout the afternoon, bystanders were pelted with eggs and wacer balloons, and some were etien thrown inco the dunk tank (below). Winners of the ocher etients of the week included Chi Sigma Upsilon Sorority for its Derby Days banner in che Stt«lent Center and Phi Alpha Beta Sorority for collecting the most derbies and finding 'Herbie che Derby' twice. The otierall winner of the week was Phi Alpha Beta. Derby Days concluded wich che Ducky Dunk and the X.96 dance Friday night. Proceeds from the week- $3,000 and 500 cans of food-go co Make.a.W ish Foundation and Children's Miracle Necwork. !?~!:~I.!?!1.,7!~~·~;~ from Tooele, shocked the audience in the 'Stupid Human Tricks' segment of the Sigma Chi Derby Days Craze by turning his feet completely backward. At righc, emcee Maren Maclean looks on as Aaron Goodman representing Sigma Chi, Sean Allen representing the men's basketball team, and Shawn Cottrell from Sigma Nu stuff their faces with chilicos in the chili to eating contest. Abow, in an encore performance, members of the men's basketball team Donnie McDade, Darrell Benson, Vic Saunders and Keith 'Shaggy' Berard stole the show-and first place-with their Jackson Fitie 'Rockin Robin' lip sync. Ducky Dunk Cedar Cicy Mayor Harold Shirley (right) jumps into the SUU pool filled with approximately 1,200 rubber duckies at the Sigma ChVMake·a· Wish Foundation Derby Days Ducky Dunk Friday. Above, Shirley comes up with the winning duck. The owner of the duck, Brenda Seifers, wins a weekend at a condo in Park City. Ducks were sold for $1 throughout the week with all proceeds going to the Make·a· W ish Foundation. Chi Sigma Upsilon and Phi Alpha Beta Sororities were honored for selling the most ducks per member and per organization, respectiwly. |
