Valentine's is celebrated Feb. 14 each year, with people sending cards expressing love and affection to each other. The day is named after two different saints named Valentine. Both of them lived many hundreds of years ago in Rome, Italy. No one know why these saints are associated with the custom of sending messages of love. The name of these saints is used because Feb. 14 is the feast day on which they are honored and celebrated. The custom of sending greetings on St. Valentines Day has grown through the years, and now millions of people in the United States, and many other countries, send greeting cards or Valentines. Craig Miya Division of Wildlife By The ringneck pheasant throughout Northern Utah is the number one game bird in the eyes of many Utah sportsmen. Many sportsmen who hunt the pheasant fail to realize the problems of survival these birds are subject to found during the non-huntin- g period of the year. Winter is a critical time for pheasants. With this years extreme cold and deep snow, many pheasants face starvation and suffocation under the deep snow. In cold weather pheasants require more energy to maintain body lempcratures. The pheasan-- t - are therefore required to i 'iiisume more food and use 'lured body fats. Bones seem to melt away and even the worst problems of life disappear as the restorative powers of the bath sooth the troubled mind. WITH COUPON But consider the disappointment and rage a person must feel when he comes home to find the tub filled with cold, dirty water. Small wiggly things can be seen playing waterpolo on the scummy surface, using hairs for goalposts. "Watch for our Grand Opening' Turning an accusing face to the family he cries, Who left the water in the tub? Sad faces star helplessly back. Shoulders shrug and someone replies meekly, Sorry, but the tub is plugged up. What to do? Visions of tearing up miles and miles of household plumbing pass through the head. Actually unplugging a plugged bathtub is not all that h.ard. There are only three places that a tub could be plugged up. Either in the drain line, the bathtub drum trap or at the metal tub stopper. We can check out these trouble spots by the process of elimination. Run over to the wash basin and turn on the water. If waste backs up into the bathtub, the blockage is in the drain line between the wash basin and the toilet. Pour some drain cleaner into the basin, following the directions on the can. It still doesnt work? Find the bathtub drum trap, it is a metal cylinder about the size of a two pound coffee can. It should be either in the basement ceiling under the bathroom floor, in the crawl space or in the bathroom floor. When you find it, pop off its top and run a sewer auger through the trap toward the toilet. This should open the line. Put the cover back and pour more chemical into the wash basin. Leave it over night if you can. The next day, flush out the lines with cold water. Now, if you have run water in the basin and no water backs up into the bathtub, the clog is between the wash basin and the bathtub. If this is the case, remove the water from the tub and take out the metal stopper and mop out the water from the drain. Now pour a good drain pipe opener into the drain line. If this fails to unblock the drain, remove the drum trap cover and rod the line through the drum trap toward the bathtub. If the clog is at the metal stopper, remove the stopper and give it a good cleaning. Once again peace and tranquility will be restored to the collective family mind, Happy Bathing!
