Stewart. The matching challenge was made at a public meeting at the college when preliminary plans were presented by the architect, college officials and representatives. Political, civic and com- leaders munity present generally favored a 12,000 seat, multi use complex over a 10,500 seat proposal which would require approximately $1.5 million dollars in addition to present funding capabilities of the chair-backe- RIDING ,l Smith 393 2488 home dollar-for-dolla- r, 78934 h college. The generous offer by the Stewarts to match community funds will most likely instigate a three phased program of 1 seeking building memorialization a by major donor, 2) donations for specific rooms, or features of the structure and 3 the sale of chairs in the facility to individuals. Chair donors would have the right to season seating in those chairs purchased as long as he or his descendants purchased season tickets. As an example - 3,000 seats so endowed at $200 apiece would represent in excell of $500,000. Approximately 90 percent of those attending the meeting indicated willingness to participate in such a program. While some concern was expressed by individuals over the ability to raise desired funds within a short period of time, a generally optimistic feeling resulted with the matching offer by the Stewarts. Ram-pto- n was on hand to present plaques for outstanding years of service to the hospital to former commissioners who were instrumental in planning, breaking ground, and niversary The Board of Directors and Officers of the Utah Cattlemen's Association, in a meeting held Friday, April 6, reitereated their previous statement that all cattle should be sold on the market when ready, when the seller is approached by a buyer offering a reasonable price. This action was taken to clarify the position of the memhersnip in relation to that of another farm organization who have recommended ho.umg cattle in some areas in order to keep the price at a higher level. In further action, they deplored the statement now being circulated that Utah beef supplies will be shipped to Japan if not purchased by Utah buyers. Since the only shipment could be made in the form of dressed beef, a check of Utah packing plants indicated this is improbable at this time. The $80 million a year industry in Utah stands ready to furnish the Utah consumer with the highest quality beef available at the lowest price possible for the continued economic productive capacity of the industry. supervising the building of Utahs only chronic disease facility.
