The first is scheduled for Sep-- tembers, 1973. The merchandising program is structured to keep the cost to participating merchants at a low level, one which can easily be abosrbed within regular advertising budgets. An initial canvass of Roy business establishments showed that only one merchant our of 46 indicated he was unwilling to participate. Dust and wind posed the next problem for the city council as some five or six citizens met with the council. This problem stems from a muddy and grassless area at 2160 W. and 4000 S Evidently the spring winds and the mud drying out has caused a sandblast area hitting the homes nearby. TTie grass is ris ... Wonder where the sunshine is? Monday morning I was all ready to write about the coming of spring, and the beautiful sunshining day. Then Tuesday morning as I drove to work, part way through hail and the rest of the way through pouring rain, I debated what else I could write about. But being an optimistic person, which wouldnt qualify me for a very good weather forecaster, I decided to hope for the best ... and expect that by Thursday we would be back to spring. 2. 1973 Elected to Exalter Ruler was Robert D. I keep reading the back cf my flower seed packet that says ... plant outdoors when all danger of frost has past. Can anyone actually tell me when that will be? I would like them to come up this year ... and not for only a little while, which will be exactly what happens if I wait until Im sure the danger of frost has past. All the Easter bonnets, new dresses, new shoes, and new suits give everyone a better outlook ... at least for a day if. r by Pat Sutter, editor and hopefully a sunshine-fille- d day. Traditionally I havent looked forward to April 22 ... not because this year it happens to be Easter but because it also happens to seem like Christmas. Six years ago, April 22, 1967 my grandfather, J.W. Misell was celebrating a 64th birthday ... and where was I? In the hospital with our first baby and grandpas first greatgrandchild. If that wasnt a big enough birthday present for him, his daughter saw to it that a grandson was born that afternoon. So now, each year on April 22 it looks like Christmas at our house what with a turkey dinner, umpteen relatives and twice as many birthday presents. And then this year we will celebrate Easter too. Grandpa says in all his 70 years, he doesnt remember his birthday ever being on Easter. It is really nice and the two younger birthday kids get a kick out of telling everyone that their birthday is Easter. But, they also know that the Easter bunny will be around that day too. Wendy feels she should have an Easter dress like always ... and why shouldnt she also get a new dress for her birthday like she always has? Certainly she should have new shoes and an Easter basket. If thats not bad enough ... stop and think, just last Monday we had to give still more to Uncle Sam. Ive heard it said that Uncle Sam really took a bite out of everyones income this year ... and to top it off he used Poly-grip- ! But according to IRS officials If you have a refund coming, you should get it in six or seven weeks. Maybe by then good weather will be here to stay and we can start complaining about how hot it is and wishing for the cooler weather of all. Is anyone ever really satisfied with the days temperature? the bishop began the Sunday morning meeting, there was a loud clap of thunder, signalling the start of a downpour.
