Show "t s I The Thursday December 4, 1858 Sun-Chronic- le, turned a box of merchandise that was stolen from the store Oct. 13 this year. On Oct. 30, an escapee of the federal penitentiary in Atlanta, Ga., and his wife were picked up in Eureka, Calif., by county officials driving a stolen car. In the car were items they had taken and among them were these of Sunset Drug which the couple admitted having taken. Items included a portable TV, poloroid camera, 4 rolls of film, cigarette lighter and three wrist watches. Purchase of the new state flag for Sunset city by Marshal Robinson and Deputy Glen Clary, was made last week. The state flag will fly from the pole in front of the city hall, just below the national flag each day of the week. Sunset is probably the only city of its size to fly the state flag as well as the national flag. The Sunset School PTA officers honored the 17 faculty members and Principal Carl D. Peterson, with a teacher appreciation hour, after school recently. A fine program was rendered by students of the school and refreshments were served. The fifth grade class of Floyd Sucher made up the staff and composed the paper now known as the Holliday Gazette, the first Sunset School paper issued this year. The fourth, fifth and sixth grades wrote articles for the paper. Brownie troops 132 and 134 of Sunset were taken on a tour of the Ogden City Fire Department and Standard Examiner recently. The 27 girls were chaperoned by their leaders Mrs. Wells Watts and Mrs. Donald Patterson and Mrs. Rudolph Stecklein. Mr. and Mrs. Elwyn Hall, Jaycee members helped with the transportation and chaperoning. Another Brownie troop will soon be formed under the leadership of Mrs. Holman and Mrs. Elwyn Hall of Sunset. Sunset PTA sponsors the Browmie Scout pregram. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Christensen are sporting a very beautiful car 1959 Pontiac. The Sunset Fire Ladies Auxiliary are again sponsoring a doll project. The doll is a 22 inch beautiful Sweet Sue. Tickets are 25c each and may be purchased from any of the Fire Ladies or their husbands. Proceeds will be used for to purchase play ground equipment for the city. Committee chairman for the project are Mrs. Blanche Doe and Mrs. Earl Beesley. Mrs. Stanley Shaw was taken to the hospital a few weeks ago with a light stroke. She is better now and is at home convalescing. Sunset Ward MIA will have their Mutual Christmas party Tuesday, Dec. 16. Mrs. Blanche Dee is the activity counselor and says she will try to have some new records to dance by after the party.
