But the Moquis outscored them in the final period to pull within three before the Tigers found their rt way around a trap to pull away for a 61 -- 51 win. The young Tigers are still sharpening their shooting eye, and with-twplayers suspended and Dotson ailing, theyve had to adjust their lineup considerably. But with only two juniors and a host of big talented sophomores and mid-cou- freshmen, the Tigers have the potential to come on strong as the season progresses. Sophomores Kerry Sherwood and Robbie Marshall have been the standouts hitting 15 and 10 respectively and doing a great job n Fill uu on the boards. Scott Sullivan had 1 8 for high scorer. Marshall was forced to start Friday after playing the Jr. Varsity game, when Dotson pulled some ligaments in his hip during warmup drills. Aaron Mayer helped out with eight and some fine floor play while Paul Yee tossed in 10. Marshall and Sherwood came back Saturday against the North Sevier Wolves with 15 and 20 points respectively to keep the Tigers close, but the Wolves full court press caused a lot of turnovers that gave the Wolves a 7 78-5- win. Mayer added 12 and Sullivan 10, Yee who had a good night Friday couldnt find the handle. Turnovers cost the Tigers in both games, but this young squad has the potential to put it to but Qrir7 CJULwJ good coaching. Each game should build self confidence individually and as a team. From the field the Tigers had a tdugh time getting the ball to fall at times, but when they stepped up to the line they had the target. Against Escalante they hit 13 of 17 and against the Wolves gether, with 23 of 36. An indication that it will only be a matter of time until they are swishing them from all over the court. For the Moquis Porter had 22, and Crawford 12 for those in double figures, while the Wolves had five in double figures. Howard and Hardy with 12 each, Johnson and Hansen with 11 and Colby with 13.
