Show MILFORD IN MOTION Thursday April Remember April 2lst Is the annual hunt for all kids years old on the lawn of the hospital. The submarine was recently launched during ceremonies held In Groton, Conn. Mary Albrecht and Lucy Reese attended the funeral in Beaver last Thursday for a dear relative Selma GUllns. Kalmi Reese, daughter of Larry and Lorna Reese of Cedar City, spent two days last week with her grandmother Lucy and two little cousins, Craig and Emily Thompson. Virginia Young Is still In LDS Hospital, Room 3E 56, recouperating from her recent surgery. Roy reports she Is getting along better now, but doesn't know when she will be home. Randy and Renle Williams and four children of Riverton, Utah came to Milford the evening of April 5th and stayed through the weekend at the home of Randy's parents Coy and Jackie Williams. While here they also visited with many friends and relatives and enjoyed shopping in Cedar City. Lucy Reese recently returned from Redding, California where she w visited with her daughter and John and Norma O'Boskey, and daughter Carrie. While there two grandsons Jeff and Greg OBoskey came home from Boise. Lucy also spent a day In West Valley City on her way home with a son Bill Reese and family. visiting at the home of Ken and Sara Myers recently were Sara's sisters Lucille Oliver and husband, and Elrieta Eaton from Grand Junction, Colorado. While here they all traveled to Mesquite and met son from Las Vegas, had dinner and a nice visit. Traveling to Panaca last weekend were Jolyn Leko and her children, Kaden and Kandl. They went to visit Jolyns sister, April and Gary Elmer and their family. The Milford Post Office has a new employee. He Is Richard Oak-de- n of Beaver. He will be working as a part time clerk and fills the vacancy left when Dennis Armstrong transferred to the Delta Office recently. While here they helped Kelli Dawn Yardley, daughter of Mike and S her -rie Yardley, celebrate her 4th birthday. Also on hand to help celet rate the occasion were Sherries parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fmpey of St. George, GrandmaMaurine and Grandpa Duane Yardley; Wayne and Back row; Shaun Dalton, Craig Patterson, Mark Yardley and Bill Morris. Shaun and Bill were runners up in the southwestern division in Social Science and General Scholarship, respectively. Evelyn McCulley and children and Carla Stewart and family. Then last week, Duane and Mau-rin- e had grandchildren Bethany, Mariah and Nathan visit for a couple of days. Paul and Barbara Yard-le- y came over on Saturday to enjoy the Mineral Mountain Man Rende-vou- z and pick up the kids. While they were here Maurine held a family birthday party for Nathan, who turned two years old. Visiting at the home of Herb and Betty Coon recently were Bettys son and his wife, Rod and Michelle Thurston of Bountiful, Utah. They were here to help Betty celebrate her birthday and to watch Herb play in the MHS Alumni tournament. Mel and After a week of visiting, Herb and Betty and Janet traveled to St. George with Rod and Michelle, where Rod and Bettys other son, Kelly, played in a softball tournament. Betty said their team came in third out of thirty which wasnt too bad. She also reports that it was really warm, sunny and very nice down there. While Rod and Michelle were in Milford, they also visited at the home of Michelles grandmother, Fern Burbidge. In looking out the front window of the office the other day, I noticed Nancy Small walking down the without her crutches. Alstreet though it looked like she still had a walking cast on, that is easier than using crutches, I think. Mr. and Mrs. Newell Marshall went toDeltaSundaytoattendChurch and to be with their Billie Garrett, who was made Bishop He is married to of his Ward. son-in-la- w, With Peter Cottontail hopping down the bunny trail and Easter on its way, students at Milford Elementary, and Im sure also at have Carol Wisemans been busy making Easter decorations the past couple of weeks or so. The artistic ability and Imagination of these young people are, at times, really amazing. Remember the ESA Fashion Show being held Saturday, April 28. So come out and support your various community activities. There are a lot of them, most were well advertised, and they all benefit the community and need your support. Betty Coon reports that Blair and Teresa Coon and small son, Monty, of Cedar City, were in town recently to enjoy theMHS Alumni tournament. Well, April 15 is over for another year and you have now paid your taxes, gotten your refund already or are anxiously awaiting it's arrival in the mail. Hope you fared better than we did this year. Brownie Leader Madeline Davis reports that plans are now being finalized for the Brownies Mother-Daught- er Tea. This year the event will be held May 4th at the Station Restaurant and will include a lovely dinner, followed by the presentation of awards and pins to the girls. All Brownies and their mothers are encouraged to circle this dale on their calendar and make plans to attend, as it is a very special occasion for the girls. Also, Brownie leaders will be needed next year. Madeline and1 Adrianne will not be leaders next year. Games and refreshments were enjoyed by a number of relatives and friends in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Arleigh Campeau have recently moved back to Milford. LaVar and Nora Davis are the proud parents of a baby girl, born Thursday, April 12 in the MVMH. Ron and Gayle Gale popped in Tuesday for a very short visit at the home of daughter Nancy Carter and her family. They were on their way home from a meeting in Cedar City. While in town they also visited at the home of Pearl Tolley. Sherry (Pie) Marshall. Lela Evans Is home after spending some time with Marlene, Clyde and LaRee In Las Vegas. Bonnie and Verle Holdaway came down and took their mother and father, 1 .ank and Druce Carter, to Salt Lake for awhile. Leon and Margie Thompson are home after going to Wisconsin to move their son, Mark ho. While there, Margie got really sick and nad to be flown home. The school held their annual carnival last week. The kids really look forward to this. They had a cake walk, pie eating contest and all kinds of booths. The Betterment Club sponsored It. Bishop Ross and Eleanor Marshall are home after spending a couple of months in Phoenix, Arizona. He says he feels better we surely hope he stays that way. Mart Davis has had surgery in the LDS hospital we all wish him well and hope he will be home soon. Dixie Mesger from Las Vegas and Joyce her sister from Salt Lake are visiting their parents Lorin and Lucille Goff. Dick and Betty Pryors son Brad from California drove up to do a little fishing but I dont think the fishing was very good. About two thousand people drove from far and near to fish the Miners -ville reservoir, but I dont think there were too many fish caught. Alot of fishing but no catching. Aldon Johnson and family were in McCmullins Cafe celebrating Benes fathers 81st birthday.While Bene was in Cedar City, Aldon had to get up on the roof and do some repairs. Well, Benes car broke down, Aldens ladder fell down and he spent three hours on the roof waiting for her to come home. Consequently they were late for the birthday party.
