Seated are Howard, Effie and Bishop Ross. Travis Hugh celebrated his birthday on the 3rd of February. He took his little friends to Cedar bowling. They had cake and ice cream at home, then after bowling they ate at Hermies. Word was received that Doris (Dot) Corbridge died in Oregon. She is the sister of Sylvia Davis and Vivan Marshall. She will be buried in Oregon. She was the daughter of the late Horace and Laura Corbridge and was married to the late Connell Jones. Pam and Kent and family from Las Vegas visited their parents and grandparents, Tex and Vie and Newell and Theo Marshall. Lois Pearson spent the night with her sister Nettie Myers Sunday Phyllis, Rachel, Barbara, Aldene and Jef. Below Effie poses with the beautiful cake. Jan Jacobsen and two children Laurel and Natasha from San Diego, California surprised their Grandmother Effie Marshall by coming to visit for her birthday Sunday, February 12. She will spend a few days with her parents Karl and Phyllis Truman. HEADS ORLEANS FAIR Union Pacific Systems historic steam locomotive No. 8444 will leave Cheyenne, Wyo., March 9 excursion to New on a week-lon- g Orleans where it will be put on display during the Worlds Fair May 12 - November 11. The 40 -- year-old locomotive, last steam -- powered engine to be built for Union Pacific, will travel 1,900 miles through seven states arriving in New Orleans March 15. Stops will be made at 34 cities along the way, with the locomotive available for public viewing. A welcoming reception will be held in New Orleans for the famed engine, which has never traveled through the South, Union Pacific and Worlds Fair officials will accompany the engine on its journey to provide information on rail transportation and Worlds Fair exhibits. No. 8444 will start from its home base at Cheyenne, Wyoming and steam through Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois, and Louisiana to reach the exhibit site. Union has Pacific Railroad awarded a contract for removal of the rail and ties. The estimated value of the donation, covering approximately 775 acres of right of way, 117 bridges and 102 culverts, is nearly $900,000. The Interstate Commerce Commission approved the abandonment June 7, 1983. They all enjoyed a delicious dinner with ice cream and birthday rake, decorated by Madelyn Truman a granddaughter. A program with Valentine Love as the theme was presented by family members. All of her children and their spouses, Howard, Phyllis, Jeff, Barbara, Fay, Ruth, Ross, Rachel and Adlene, with many grandchildren and great grandchildren were in attendance. A total of 80 persons.
