Show if; UuJUuL Mrs. Terry Griffiths Jesse Ward met with the Mrs. and CityCoun-c- ll to discuss renovation of the Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Griffiths stated that the Seniors contract with the El Bambl Restuarant for meals ended December 31, 1983. Mrs. Griffiths asked the Council when the Seniors would be able to serve meals at the Senior Center. After discussion, It was the consensus of the City Council that the Senior Center should be ready In approximately 30 days to serve meals. Mrs. Griffiths asked the Council If linoleum could be placed In the dining room rather than carpet. After discussion, It was the consensus of the City Council that carpet be installed In the dining room rather than linoleum; In front of the serving counter, car-P- et should not be Installed. Mrs. Griffiths discussed with the Council possibly building a nursing home in conjunction with the renovation of the Beaver Valley Hospital. She stated that the charge Is approximately $1,057.00 per month to place elderly people In nursing homes. Mrs. Griffiths stated that she would be obtaining signatures on a petition to present to the Hospital Board. Councilman Messinger moved Beaver City authorize Mayor Christiansen to sign a contract with the Utah Department of Community and Economic Development to obtain disaster rel:et funding from the State of Utah. All voted in favor of the motion. Councilman Hutchings questioned if other cities using the FM100 signal should possibly participate in the purchase of a transmitter. Councilman Smith was requested to talk to Mr. Heber Gurr on this matter and report back to the City Council at their next meeting. City Manager Bakerwas Instructed to contact Charles Yardley, DVM, to discuss building a kennel. Mr. Baker should request Dr. Yardley to come to the next City Council meeting. Councilman Grimshaw discussed Beaver Citys water system and possible renovations of the water Thursday, system with the City Council. It was estimated that by developing several springs, into the Baker Canyon line, Beaver City full water right could be developed without pumping the wells. Councilman Hutchings stated he had received complaints regarding officers not being present at the Elementary School crossing. Councilman Messinger requested that Beaver City pay his health insurance to Educators Mutual, rather than Beaver Citys Utah Local Government Trust. Attorney John Christiansen is currently drawing up an agreement with Beaver City and Beaver County on this Jan.
