Dale Willis is the first president to be elected by the group, whose primary goal is to establish a museum that has been proresident and posed by long-tim- e author Emma Russell. He feels that by preserving the citys rich heritage, both past and present, the residents will have a deeper sense of pride and loyalty for their town. As president, he wants to build an active membership who will serve on committees that relate to their specialties and expertise. Each of us, Willis says, is a part of history and that makes everyone eligible. Willis urges anyone who is interested, whether your roots are in Roy or not, to call him at or Emma Russell at 731-61- 825-832- 5. Our foundation has a unique blend; wisdom that comes with age and enthusiasm that comes with youth, Willis says. He also feels this concept is true of the Roy community. It is made up of people who have lived here all their lives and many newcomers who have lived here for a short time. Other officers elected to the foundation are Bettie Bond, first vice president; Earl Morris, second vice president; Marlene Peterson, general secretary; Anita Kersey, corresponding secretary; Mr. and Mrs. Dee Sparrow, treasurers; Clay Hamblin, curator; Randy Harris, communications officer; and Norma Branchley, liason. Spendlove said he recognizes the technology is there and wants to accommodate the city without violating peoples rights. Councilman Lee Andersen made a motion to take more time on the matter but Spendlove felt time was of the essence. The matter had been postponed in a previous meeting and Spendlove said dishes were going up around the city and said there needs to be some type of . for antenna dishes.
