This is the first art show we have had by an artist who paints strictly local scenes, Day Said. Day prefers oils and works at the site of his subject rather than working from a photo. He features many local historical sites and views of the surrounding landscapes. Day was born and raised in the area and now lives in Layton with his wife Jeanne, and their four sons. He is a teacher at Kaysville Junior High. Days father is a noted local artist and the younger Days career in painting began when his father handed down an old A x. Kenneth and Barbara of Farmington requested a reduction in their building permit fees because they werent building, but moving a new house onto their lot on 100 East, located a block away from the site of a debris basin. The house, presently located on 550 North 100 East, originally belonged to Unsworths father. It was one of 10 houses, some of which were damaged by spring floods and mudslides, that had to be removed from the debris basin site. Unsworth also felt that Gillingham, a Boise contractor em Un-swor- th ployed to clean up the debris and mud in the area near and surrounding the basin site, had removed too much top soil.
