trespass on a military installation after about 40 people blocked the main gate to Malmstrom Air Force Base here in a peaceful Easter night protest against nuclear weapons Twenty-thre- e schedule court appearances at a later date for those arrested Prior to the arrests the Air Force said it had issued “barring” letters to 35 persons The letters stated the person would be arrested if he came onto the base a second time Base officials said 15 of those perthe base and that sons did eight other persons who were issued “barring” letters during earlier demonstrations at the base crossed onto military property Sunday night and were taken before Larsen One of those eight is the Rev John re-ent- Twenty-tw- of those charged were o released on their own recognizance by US Magistrate Dirk on Easter Sunday then told his church’s 45 million members to remember the rich history of Mormon progress while to working expand the religion’s influence in the world Kimball spoke via a satellite linkup and radio to those attending the church’s annual general conference in Salt Lake City and to members in 34 countries celebrating the 150th anniversary of the founding of the religion at the Peter Whitmer farmhouse in Fayette The church leader noted with the pride rapid growth of the Mormon faith during the past 15 decades “We now have 30004 missionaries” Kimball said “That is the largest number of missionaries ever in the history of the church The young sisters serving represent 13 percent of the total Eight percent of the total missionary force is represented by older couples”
