Show o Bun Advocate 4 parishes Christian singers to stage concert pick Women of the Year Four outstanding Catholic women have been chosen as Women of the Year by parishes in Price, Helper, East Carbon and Roosevelt, comprising the District Council of Catholic Women. Selected for the honor are Veronica Heinlein, Notre Dame Parish in Price; Rose Perrero, St. Anthonys Parish in Helper; Kathleen Eaquinto, Good Shepherd Parish in East Carbon; and Sheila Landry, St. Helens Parish in Roosevelt. Miss Heinlein, 81, taught at Carbon High School for many years. Born in Hamilton, Mont., she moved to Salt Lake City with her family at the age of 5 years. Her father was transferred by the Rio Grande Railroad to Helper and she obtained most of her education in southeastern Utah. After graduating from schools in Salt Lake City and Omaha, she began her teaching career at Soldier Summit. She came to Price in 1926 and began teaching at Harding Junior High School. Four years later, she went to Carbon High, where she taught English until her retirement in 1966. She has served in various Altar Society offices and has done extensive volunteer work for the parish and community. Mrs. Perrero is a Helper native and is the mother of two and grandmother of four. During 46 years of membership in the St. Anthonys Altar Society; she has held every office, some more than once. Her years of service include cleaning the old and new churches and Railroad Chapel, Jon Stemkoski will direct the Celebrant Singers in a concert of contemporary Christian music at 8 p.m. May 22 at the Notre Dame Catholic Church in Price. A native Californian, Stemkoski is in the 10th year of his Christian music ministry which has taken him throughout the United States, The Francis Rev.
