Show 4C Sun Advocate, Price, UtahTuesday, May 10, 1988 uiaiiio uiicicu iui local history plans The American Association for State and Local History has announced the Grants-in-ai- d Program for research in state and local history, a competitive of up program of grants-in-ai- d to 5,000 for research in com- munity, local, regional history. The application state, deadline and is humanitites and relevant social science disciplines. The object is to foster understanding of the history and culture of states, regions, and localities through original research that will culminate in new knowledge or new interpretation or both. AASLH will work with the Utah State Historical Society in the Junel. Offered by AASLH with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Utah State Historical Society, the competition is open to individuals and organizations, historical institutions, museums, libraries, colleges and universities of any size. Ineligible are students whose research projects are part of a degree requirement. Projects may draw upon Grants-in-ai- Program. d Proposals will be screened at the state level by a special review team and then sent to AASLH and judged competitively by a National Evaluation and Review Panel appointed by the association. Applicants will be notified of the state review committees action by mail by July 15. Applicants chosen for national review at AASLH will be notified by mail of the final results on or before Aug.30.
