Retaining its lean m Valley action, Kearns American Legion team ran its league record to 12-- 1 with road victories over Judge 1 Wednesday and Tooele 1 Monday and a home win 7-- 2-- Thursday against visiting Jordan 11-mark in sandwiching a the Home Town Days tournament it hosted Friday through Sunday. Tournament play will again beckon Kearns as it heads to Boise, Idaho for another five games in three days slate, beginning Thursday with Kirkland, Washington. 2-- 3 Kearns 2, Tooele 1 Sean Veazie struck out five and gave up seven hits in going the distance on the mound for Kearns Monday. Kearns had just four hits, but certainly made the most of them getting a double from Fred Scott and a single by Jared Fernandez to score one run in the fifth and a triple by Mike Foley and a sacrifice fly by Fred Scott for the game winner in the seventh. Tooeles only run was scored in the bottom of the third on a walk and a double. Skyline sent the game into extra inning with two in the bottom of the fifth. Todd Hert and Scott each doubled for Kearns. In Sundays final round, Kearns defeated Brighton as Johnny Brown hammered three home runs and J.R. Truesdell a double to be included in Kearns 10 hits. Brighton had 11 hits, homer by including a Mike Herbert, a triple and two singles by Bruce Burt and doubles by Chad Erickson, Rob Stoker and Chris Seegmiller.
