Show THE GREEN SHEET Thursday, May 26, 1988 bo 1 E April Holman Is Now Mrs. Timothy H. Mecham Out My Window Ethel Bradford 1 April Holman and Timothy H. Mecham have chosen today, May 26, to exchange their wedding vows in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. t those two for opening doors to many of the positive things that I now experience. They will be honored at a breakfast at the wedding Chuck-A-Ram- a the following ceremony and further honored at a reception given at the Granger South Stake Center. As a member of the Utah Press Women , I have taken quite a few trips around the U.S. that I wouldnt have otherwise. And as members of the Press . . . doors opened that otherwise would have remained tightly closed. ... The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max D. Holman of Granger. She graduated from Granger high ar.d will be from the LDS graduating Business College on June 11 with an associate degree in fashion merchandising. She has been of Lambda Delta Sigma, Kappa Omega Chapter while at the But more than that aspect . . . The Cornwells gave me the freedom to write, and these words each week have pushed me to explore both inner and outer realms that I might not have if left on Bette and. Jim Cornwell stopped in at' the Green Sheet office the other day and, as always, it was good to see them. In case you dont remember, the Cornwells owned and operated the Green Sheet for a good many years before they decided to let someone else take over while they dipped into the good life of leisure. my own. ... And then for another thing, I became acquainted with you. To name a few (And I cant use names that I have not asked) but I would never have known my buzzum buddy LaRee Pehrson. Then theres Chhe Miller, Florence Anderson, Ida Bickley, Jody Paras . . . and so many others who write or phone me when my words please or jar them. I feel as if I know so many of you. And the good life it has been for them. Recently they took a jaunt to the south eastern states, rented a car and the only deadlines they faced were, what to have for dinner, where to eat it and where to spend the coming night. College The groom is tne son of Vella Mecham and the late Joseph D. Mecham, of Shelley, Idaho. He graduated from Shelley high and has attended Ricks College. He filled an LDS mission in Porto Allegre, Brazil. ... I say, good for them. They earned.it. Day after day, night after night, week after week and year after year, they were here at the office, as regularly as the sun coming up in the east and going down in the west. Like Gibraltar, anchored right here. Ive been asked to go places do things . . . meet people . . . (and I always say yes) . . . that would never have happened if it hadnt been for the Cornwells and the job they gave to me. Bette and Jim were good bosses. They created a feeling of family that encouraged us to look out for each other. We shared the busy times, took over if someone were ill, and then turned the job back upon their return. "Reciprocal Maintenance", is what that wise man, Gurdjieff, called it. And here it worked. We stood at the counter and gossiped about this and that, with Bette more relaxed and happy than Ive seen her for a long, long time (looking mighty fine, too) and I realized that the good life they are now finding is only one of the positive things that came from their years here. They influenced and changed a lot of lives. Like mine. Rhonda L. Hunt will attend the bride as maid of honor with Linda Koch, Elaine Ellis and Elana and Teresa Holman as bridesmaids. Flower girl will be Athena Holman and Julie Curtis will be at the guest book. Anyway . . . though its been three years since I called either Bette or Jim boss, it dawned on me, as they stood there, relaxed and happy, that the good things of life they are now finding, have also poured over on me. I cant speak for others, only for myself, but the Ethel who came to their office, answering their ad for daily help, was far different from the Ethel of today. And, in case you wonder, its not been at all bad with Peter Bernhard, our new boss, either. I must admit the shift from one to the other was a shock, but when the tremors settled down . . . once again . ..it became a good place to be. I began working here at a terribly hard period of my life and my work here has been, in a large part, responsible for the joy and happiness I now find. The Cornwells were slow to criticize my errors and quick to comment upon some good piece of work. I thrived on it and can thank Lemon Stir-Fr- y Chicken Olga Milius in melted butter or margarine minutes. Sprinkle (13 cup) for with 23 cup lemon juice and stir until steam evaporates.
