He filled an LDS mission to Stockholm, David Hadley Smith, Murray, and Carol Lee Packett of Laie, Hawaii, formerly of Orem, will exchange wedding vows in the Jordan River LDS Temple tomorrow, February 12th. A wedding breakfast will be held in the Murray 5th ward following the ceremony and a reception that evening at the Excelsior Hotel in Provo. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Eldon H. Packett. She graduated from Kahuku high and has attended the Brigham Young University in Provo and the BYU Hawaii. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Paul M. Smith and is a graduate of Murray high, now Sweden. Attending the bride as maid of honor will be Cindy Varney with Karen Smith and Amy Walker as bridesmaids. Viky Bates will be at the guest book. Best man duties will be performed by Hal Gregory and the ushers, in absentia, are Dan Smith and David Puckett, who are both serving LDS missions. Pre-nupti- Homecoming Dora and Vaun Fotheringham Celebrate Their Golden Wedding The family on Vaun and Dora Fotheringham, Holladay will honor them on February 19 th, to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. They are inviting family and friends to an open house at the Holladay 11th ward, 2065 E. 4675 South, between the hours of 6:30 and 9:00 p.m. Vaun married the former Dora Zugel on February 19, 1938 in Murray, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Karen Lister To Marry Mark Strebel The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Karen Lister to Mark Strebel is being announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Lister of Taylorsville. Vaun and Dora both enjoy travelling and golf. They have been active in many church assignments, in both the ward and stake. Most recently they filled an LDS mission to San Antonia, Texas for one year, where Dora was secretary to the mission president and Vaun served as mission financial nt ' EAGLE SCOUT 'ymiCS- - Timothy David Waters Timothy David Waters, son of David Lee and Kathy Ann Waters, of West Valley City, has recently attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a member of Troop No. 6645 with Lonnie Ayers of the Jordan North 6th ward as varsity coach. Tim has earned 22 merit badges and for his service project sanded and and stained a park benches in a small park near his church. He joins his uncle, Scott Waters, of St. Johns, Arizona in the Eagle scout rank, and another uncle, John Van Da Walker III, is a Mark Bennett Ellis play-platfor- m Silver Beaver. Tim is the grandson of Lee and Gwen Waters of St. Johns, Arizona, and Alice Van Da Walker of Hemet, California. He is a student at Valley junior high. He has earned his Arrow of Light and Faith in God awards in Cub Scouts, his On My Honor award in Scouts and is currently working towards his Duty to God award. Mamie Jan Hensley Marnie Jan Hensley, the daughter of Beverly and Gary Hensley, has been called to serve an LDS mission in Helsinki, Finland and will enter the training center on February 17th. A farewell will be held in her honor at 10:50 on Feb. 14th in the North Jordan stake center, located at 3800 So. and 4000 West. A reception to honor Marnie will be held following the farewell meeting at the home of her sister, Rhonda Bawden, at 3372 Island Way (4650 West). Marnie is a graduate of Granger high where she served as song leader for three years.
