The goal of the program is to place individuals in one of a broad array of mental health service occupations, such as working with children, community agencies or with private corporations, according to Victoria Garcia. Fall quarter offerings include ethnic minorities, family relations and English composition. Classes will be taught from 4:30-- 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at Valley Mental Health facility located at 1341 So. State, Suite 312. Johnny Appleseed Day was celebrated last Friday by students in classes at Whittier elementary taught by Annette Howarth and Michelle Fawson.
