My sentiments exactly ! " Childhood ? Where is it?" That I wonder, too, een though I often say I wouldn't want to he my childhood again. By that I mean only that I couldnt stand the mockery that children made of my looks and speech by schoolmates and others. W ere it not for my loing family, the home enjoyment of many of the things you wrote about, I could not hate stood childhood. Thank God for the pleasant memories, though! Please accept a late thank you for the loely article you wrote on mother. Did y ou know I came in next morning to the office to thank you but you were out, then, procrastinating person that I am, I neglected to write a note of thanks and appreciation. Please accept my apology, and sincere thanks for an article well written. I feel flattered that I was accused of haung written the article! Ioe to write but I don't dare publish, thank you! How I appreciate the many fine comments that have come regarding the article. copy of it was even sent to me from California from an Green ShecVsubscnber there, so the Green Sheet gets around. Howes has accepted a call to fill an LDS mission to Columbus, Ohio and will enter the training center on September 23 His farewell meeting will be held in the Taylorsville 33rd ward, 2670 W. 4270 South, at 9 00 am. on September 20 An open house will be H. Ottlev held at the Village Dear Mrs. Bradford, So. 2700 West, September artiI want to let you know how much I enjoyed your latest cle about "lost childhood." I can identify with all you said. I remember thing in a neighborhood where everyone, even adults at times, played tag, hide and seek and run my sheepy, run on, warm summer evenings. Recently I read an article on "poverty - while I agree with the lady that wrote the article (she honored her Mom) I want to honor my Dad. Though he only had one hand and arm he was a "Jack of all Trades." I remember during the Depression he mended the family shoes on a last at home. Men from great distances brought horses for him to break to harness. So you see although we didnt have plumbing, cars, (our transportation was a horse and buggy ) fridge, central heating, freezer etc. and were raised in " poverty " - we were very happy. Pd must prefer being a kid when I could have a childhood instead of being transferred to an instant adult like the kids today. Seeing a babe in arms with pierced ears is going a bit too far.
