Show 3B THE GREEN SHEET Thursday, September Bacchus Students Planting Area - 25, 1986 Students Prepare Flora To Flourish At School For ACT Testing KEARNS. Trees and flowers in abundance next spring is the goal of the PTA at Bacchus elementary. The school grounds is really the only park we have in this area, said PTA president Ann Geary, and we want to make it as attractive as we can. PTA officers have purchased 705 bulbs, one for each student at the school. The students will plant them tomorrow (Friday) as part of the schools beautification activities. Each class has been assigned its own area for planting, so children can watch their flowers grow during CYPRUS CAVALCADE by Jennifer Napier the spring, Mrs. Geary said. PTA officers will also plant chrysanthemums and she said. One of Dr. Reed Wahlquists favorite projects is to have an arboretum at the school, said Mrs. Geary. The project began with planting of several trees last fall, including a Ginko tree and a Flowering Pear. "The Ginko is very interesting, observed Mrs. Geary. It was once thought to be extinct, because the female of the species was considered a dirty tree so people had stopped s, As for the game Friday against Olympus, Id rather not talk about it. We did have a lot of school spirit anyway. Nice try, guys. Dont let the upset get you down, though, because tomorrow (Friday) night the Bucs face Granite. The Farmers will be plowed at 7:30 on their field. Dont miss this one. Sophomore elections are over and done, and with great results, I might add. Sophomore class president is Jeff Jensen ; vice president is Jinkee Lopez; secretary is Lori Olsen and reporter-historia- is Melissa n Crowford. Congrats. Pirate Scopes are still on sale, so buy one now. Only $2. Do you want some real food for lunch? Well, the debate club is introducing pizza to the lunch menu every Tuesday and Thursday. Only $1 a slice, so come on over." For all alumni out there, we want you to be a part of our Homecoming celebration this year. Homecoming activities are not until Oct. but we need to start preparations right away. For more details on Homecoming involvement, contact John Paul Perfili at Cyprus, (very) promptly. And since Homecoming is only a month away, I thought I'd mention to the guys to start thinking about a date. It was great to see the old and young at heart dancing the night away. Thanks to everyone who came to the dance. A special thanks to all of you who helped blow up balloons, move tables and chairs and string streamers. We couldnt have done it without you.
