The imaginative nis Smith is being shown in a new exhibit at the Museum of LDS Church History and Art. Among the 30 pieces hung from the ceiling and shown on pedestals in a creatively decorated gallery are eight of Smiths fantastic flying machines made of welded steel rod and fabric, and various assemblages made up of objects collected from scrap heaps and antique stores. The excitement of motion and flight captured Dennis Smiths imagination during his childhood in Alpine, Utah, explains exhibit curator-designPaul L. Anderson of the Museum staff.
