As this year has come to a close, I wish to reflect back on some highlights that have occurred at Granger high. The year began with Hello Week. Student officers and cheerleaders helped to make new and returning students feel at home by cheerfully decorating the halls with hellos by various countries. A stomp was held at the end of the week to help students become better acquainted. A few weeks later it was Club Week, when clubs publicized themselves and pushed a membership drive. An assembly was held at the end of that week to recognize and honor all clubs. 5 Then, Homecoming drew nigh. During the first week of October, many activities were held to create enthusiasm and school spirit. Remember the parade down Lancer The Way? spectators were and really enjoyed the entertainment. And how about the e show. If you werent there, you really missed out. It was great. There were balloons, a pinata breaking and cannons going off to lead into the football game. Granger played Olympus. Later, the dance was held. Portrait was the band and the theme was I Remember the Feeling. queen was Stacy Homecoming Pasborg. The alumni turnout was pre-gam- WINNING WARRIORS . . . A stomp was held by the PTA to raise money for scholarships. Many students entered the Reflections contest and toward the end of the year, the PTA sponsored school pictures. All the while, the varsity football team was having a very successful year. In early November, Granger played a state playoff game against Hillcrest. The volleyball team was also having a great year, hockey as well. The drama and music departments' worked hard to present the shcool musical, Bye, Bye Birdie. Later on they presented a school play, Thriller of the Year. Soon after, Harvest Ball came. The club sponsored the dance and it was a successful girls choice. Royalty for the dance were King Mike Kimball, Knight Danny Howes and Pledge Scott Bagshaw. Then, merrily on its way, Christmas crept upon us. The halls were decorated for the holiday and Santa visited the students before the big holiday break. During December some students were fortunate enough to spend some time with a few senior citizens for Senior Citizen Day. The junior class was in the spotlight in early January to promote class spirit. The highlight of the week was Junior Prom at the State Capitol rotunda. Royalty were King and Queen Gregg Poulsen and Wendy Wilder. Then the school unit was broken for a week as the classes united to be the best. Spirit Week was an exd adventure. The citing, highlight of that week was the spirit assembly in which each class paid tribute to the other classes and then themselves. The walls trembled with the quake of spirited yells and cheering. The sophomores were the next bunch to be recognized. They involvg coned their class with a test among other things and held a stomp to end the week.
