Tommy Land will serve as president of the student body at Brockbank junior high for the coming school year. The new student leader is the son of Dennis and Vickie Land. Patrice Morrill and Karen Shields will share the office of senate president. Together, these two affluent characters will share all the obligations and responsibilities of senate president. Looks like an all-stlineup in Taylorsvilles casting of student body officers of 1985-8Have you ever noticed the people at with the cowboy hats and big belt buckles with their names on them? Do you wonder what they do with their time? Do you wonder if they go to the Maxim on Friday night? Well, some of cowboys spend their leisure time competing with the Bingham Rodeo club. This club, mostly made up of West Jordan, Bingham and students, has qualified 16 members to the state rodeo (held in Heber June 12, 13, 14). The four qualifiers who attend are Cheryl Egemo (president of the Warrior club) in barrels and poles; Bryce Burnett (vice president) who captured a place in state in the bareback riding category. Doug Thomson also has a place in the bareback, while Jolene Barney will secg be competing in the tion. Taylorsville is proud to have our cowboys who add a touch of down to earth American culture. I hope all ya Warriors will find time to support them at the high school rodeo. Dont forget to pick up your caps and gowns tomorrow, seniors. Next week is full of exciting stuff, such as the awards assembly Tuesday evening beginning at 7, the farewell assembly Monday in the early afternoon (ending with the faculty vs. student body softball game). Wednesday night from 1 is the second annual yearbook day preview; then on Thursday is the official yearbook day in school. And, of course, graduation day is Friday, June 7 - for the sophomores and juniors, its the last day of the 1984-8- 5 school year. thats music to the ears. The event is a combination farewell party for principal Gale Bateman, and welcome for the new principal, Kevin Hague. We shall miss Mr. Bateman, who is a great principal, and we shall miss his kind ways and smile.
