Ryan earned West Jordan a first in the floor with a score of 9.7 with Ahone second and Jensen third. In the beam, Ahone got another first, scoring 9.4 with Pitrice Boshard of Alta gaining third. In the 3A event, Jordans Jodi Welch took the top spot in the floor exercise at 9.3. Tammy Green, also of Jordan was third. Welch was also second in the vault and JoNel Borino third. Borino then earned a second in the bars. The top 12 gymnasts in each event from Fridays action advanced to the individual competition on Saturday.
