Benjamin Franklin I .Well its finally here, the event for - Spirit Week begins Monday. Its going to be a week full of unusual and exciting events. Theres for something everyone, so take a break from the daily hassles of school life and get involved in the many things going on around you. Girls, have you caught your guy yet for the Sadie Hawkins dance? Just think, this is last girls the choice dance of the year, so if theres someone youre just dying to ask, then youd better hurry because tomorrows the big night. The dance will go from 7 to 11. The cost is $5 per couple, $4 with a CHAG card. The dance is under the direction of our prestigious Janeen CHAG officers, Batt, Michelle Baxter, Jodi Oliverson, Julie Oliverson, Chris Campbell and Kim Hunt. At THS youve all been waiting and pride. Slogans from the class of 85 are everywhere. Junior spirit started n out with announcements in the mornings and blossomed into an entire class effort. With more than 500 juniors at THS, unity was a challenge indeed. Junior Pride Week is a time of lunch activities, rehearsals and f fter school hours. The class of 85, led by Mike Davis, has been meeting together the entire month for practices. The afternoon assembly will be held in the main gym tomorrow (Friday). Dont miss it. The chosen theme, And Now For is Something Totally Different, bound to spur on originality and fun. one-ma- The highlight of the week, and perhaps even the entire year, is Junior Prom. Hotel Utahs Ballroom III will be a romantic setting for Friday night's festivities. The last prom of the year will bring a mixture of emotions. Seniors will take the time to reflect on the past as they realize this is their last high school formal. The class of 85 and 86 will find the setting exciting as they begin anticipating next year's events. Good luck to members of our track team as they travel down to Dixie for a meet. Jenesse Jansen makes James Marsden work hard to extend an invitation to the Kearns high Senior Ball. Kearns High Key Club Sponsors Blood Drive KEARNS. Members of the Kearns high Key club will host a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on April 10. The event is open to the community and officers are asking that all able to do so support the effort. Those under age 17 will need parental permission to donate blood. The Granite district VICA contest is taking place at the school today (Thursday). Petitions for students wishing to run for student body office will be available April 2. Tomorrow Night To the juniors of THS - KEARNS. Time Will Reveal is the theme of the Kearns high Senior Ball, to be held from 8 to 11 p.m. tomorrow (Friday) at the Tri-Ar-c at QDmteQttalMlffi Travel Lodge in Salt Lake. Music for the event will be provided by Resound. Royalty will be announced during intermission, at which time the madrigals, under the direction of Phil Stark, will perform. Seven girls and six boys have been nominated. Tickets for the last formal dance of the current school year are $10 per couple. The event is sponsored by senior class officers Susann Andersson, president; Quint McCombs, vice president; Lisa Allen, secretary; Libbie Arias and Clay Nielson, Associated Students of Kearns representatives. Junior Week ended very successfully with an excellent dance and assembly. The dance concert will be held at 7 oclock tonight (Thursday) in the auditorium. Our dance company has been working very hard to make this successful. Come out and support our dance company tonight, tomorrow and dance, is coming on April 6, so girls get busy and get your date. Be creative in the way you ask your date and maybe you will win the creative date contest. PAINTS Monday. Student body applications are due today. So if you desire to be an SBO, get your application in to one of the SBOs by today. LATEX Today is a very busy day for spring athletics. Our JV baseball team travels to Murray for a 3 p.m. game. Our track team will travel to Kearns for a meet at 2:30. Then tonight at 6, LATEX GAL. GLOSS our Lady Lancer gymnastics team travels to Hillcrest for a meet. Good luck to all of our athletic teams today. Our soccer team plays tomorrow at 3 p.m. at Skyline. Come out and support our soccer team as they take on the Eagles. The baseball team plays Brighton at Kearns at 3:30. Tuesday there is no school. Our track team has a meet at Taylorsville, at 1:30 beginning Wednesday. The tennis team plays at Bingham at 3:30. The baseball team plays at West Jordan at 3:30. On Thursday, April 5, we have an assembly with John Goddard and his adventures in Kenya. Our soccer team plays West Jordan at Kearns at 3. The JV baseball team plays at Brighton beginning at 3:30. The gymnastics team has a region meet at Bingham. The tennis team plays West Jordan at Kearns beginning at 3:30 on April 6. Our baseball team plays against Taylorsville at Kearns beginning at 3:30. April 7 is the state jazz festival. Have a good one and come on out and support our teams.
