The state meet will begin this mor- at 7 a.m. in the Jiing with weigh-in- s Dee Events Center at Weber State. First round matches will get under way at 9:30 a.m., with second round matches scheduled for 4 p.m. ' Fridays action will begin with a noon weigh-in- , followed by matches 'at 12:30 and 5 p.m. Wrestlers will weigh in for Saturdays competition at 1 p.m., with consolation matches 'scheduled for 1:30. Championship 'matches will begin that evening at 7 oclock. Ketchum concedes his team will have its work cut out for it against the likes of Brighton, Hillcrest, Box Elder and Clearfield, but warns at state tournament time, anything can happen. Granger will send 11 wrestlers to the state meet, including six who won titles at last weeks Region Three championships. Granger won the region meet with 180 points, followed by Olympus with 139. The top four finishers in the meet advance to the state tournament. Dave Olsen of Granger took the championship with a 1 decision over Cottonwoods Ted Perryman, while Olympus highs Randy Tate and Todd Bean of Granite finished third and fourth, respectivel3-- y- Grangers Stan Penrod won a lopsided decision over Olympus highs Steve Whitney for first place in the class, followed by Mark Myers of Cottonwood (third) and Jarad Bradshaw of Cyprus. At 112 pounds, Cyprus highs Dave Lucero pinned Mark Gourley of Olympus to keep his career pound championship. Trent Phippen of Olympus and Perry Bennaly of Skyline finished third and fourth, respectively. Mike Simerly of Cyprus won the title over Granites Brian Clark. Steve Nichols defeated John Mendez for third. At 132 pounds, Grangers Jay Simon pinned Phil Diederich of Cottonwood, while Granites Dave Winkelkotter decisioned Skylines Brian Dayton for third. Jamie Rigby of Cottonwood won the championship by decision over Olympus highs Jeff Smart. Irwin Maxwell of Cyprus took third with a win over Tracy pound title by decision over Olympus highs John Bishop, while Stokes of Granite. Skylines Brian Preece beat out Grangers Pat Bradshaw for the title, while Neil Jensen of Cottonwood and Olympus highs Doug Gubler finished third and fourth, respectively.
