Many children can read before they go to school, but now a large number of them will be able to operate a computer before they enter kindergarten. There are about 120 preschoolers, age 4 and 5, enrolled in computer classes in Granite School District, according to Patricia Gurr, community relations director. The Mail Registration Is County's Suggestion SALT LAKE. The County Assessors office is suggesting that residents take advantage of the opportunity to register vehicles by mail. February is traditionally one of the busiest months. January and February each produce about 60,000 registrations, twice the usual number, a county spokesman said. Anyone whose address has not changed and who is registering the same vehicle may do so by mail. About 40 percent of the eligible residents have opted to do so, saving considerable time standing in lines. Westminster Alumni Plan Elko Vacation SALT LAKE. Enrollment At lltech Is Up By Seven Percent TAYLORSVILLE. Enrollment for winter quarter at Utah Technical College has reached 7,855, according to Dr. O. D. Carnahan, president. The number of full-tim- e equivalent students is about seven percent higher than fall quarter, he said. More than 80 percent of student credit hours are in h classes, he noted, pointing out that the technical community college is serving the important educational and training needs of the entire greater Salt Lake community. Our largest single program is business management, with more than 700 day and evening students attending. Growth ceilings have capped data processing and electronic technology which are also student favorites, he noted. There are more than 900 apprentices, representing several trades, who are enrolled in special training learnto augment their ing, and the college has 570 veterans, the president added.
