I was offended personally to be asked by UP&L to support taking power from sister cities. That was my personal objection on the issue," Davis said. Draper Mayor Glen Cannon said he felt it is important to disagree without being disagreeable on the issue. In another water-relate- d matter, Paul Barber of the Salt Lake City Mayors office gave a report on a task force assigned to address the proposal to bring Central Utah Project Water to the Salt Lake Valley. Three areas the group is looking at are an evaluation of the cost of CUP water, the institutional barriers which hamper the use of CUP water and conservation. County Commissioner Tom Shimizu announced a task force meeting would be held Wednesday and said the Assistant Secretary of the Army will be invited to the area to look over some of the problems with the Great Salt Lake, the Jordan River and Little Dell Dam. Other items discussed at the COG meeting included: - A review of the recent county comprehensive planning efforts. The program is intended to be an update of the county master plan, a document which has been dormant for three or four years. A county representative suggested exploring the feasibility of updating and adopting the master plan. The plan is intended to clear up any conflicts of entities along common borders. - A handicap awareness seminar is scheduled for Nov. 10. The seminar, titled Public and Private Sectors Working Together, is chiefly targeted for private businesses and the government sector in an effort to make them aware of the paybacks of hiring the handicapped. Were not necessarily talking building barriers to the handicapped, but the other hurdle is our own attitude, County Commissioner Mike Stewart said. The half-da- y seminar will begin at 8 a.m. in the Marriott Hotel. - A report on the activities of the property identification task force. In a five-pag- e memorandum to Stewart, the group outlined a few models and standards for a uniform property identification system. Concerns included the method of implementing the system - whether or not to do it all at once - and the procedure of issuing address certificates. COG members voted to recommend further study of the issue. ., 4t(n r'rr'rf'r Pleased You . . . receive follow-u- We honor Id like to thank you for the excellent introduction to Pioneer Valley Hospital.
