The schools PTA membership drive will run until Sept. 9. Parents are being reminded to return envelopes with dues as soon as possible. Parents are also being asked to return volunteer forms sent home last week, indicating in which area they would like to serve. The PTA is sponsoring the McGruff safety program this year, a spokesman noted. A McGruff house is a home that has been screened by law enforcement officials and identified as a home to which students may go when they need help as they go to and from school, she explained. Back to school night is scheduled for Sept. 13. Parents will be invited to meet teachers and discuss the curriculum.
