Also running for office in District 1 is Jim Hales, a retired Kennecott resident of employe, a Magna. During the 1940s and 50s, Hales was involved in the Magna Jayceees and was appointed to serve on the Magna Elected Council as a representative of that group. A World War II veteran, he served in the Pacific Theatre of War and has been a member of the Magna Community Council since June of 1982. He also serves on the board of directors of the Cyprus Credit Union. He is married and the father of eight children, all life-lon- g married. In District 2, which lies between and 8000 West, between 2400 South and 3500 South, Greg Gregson is the lone candidate. He has live in Magna for 54 years and as a financial is planner. He has also been involved in the Lions club and Rotary club in Salt Lake, as well as being an underwriter in the Life Underwriters Assn., a trade organization. He is interested in getting involved in community affairs. District 4, which extends from 8000 to 7200 West, from 4100 to 3500 South, also has two candidates for the same seat. Camille McIntosh, who has lived in the area the past six years, was elected to the council in 1980. She is married and the mother of six children and is actively involved as a leader in the Cub Scout program as well as being leader of a 4H group. Employed at Utah Idaho School Supply, she said she is interested in continuing her work with the council to bring further improvements here. Dale Greenland, an appointee to the council to fill a seat where an elected member resigned, has lived in the area for seven years and is a sales representative for a sporting concern. In the past year he has served on the Salt Lake County Assn, of Community Councils as a representative of the Magna council, as well as serving as a representative for the Magna Council on the Utah Neighborhood Council Assn.
