Our aim is to make the kids want to come in and eat what has been prepared for them in school lunch and to merchandise our program. Those who attended the meeting were given extra credit toward certification, Jan said. She suggested that the meeting helped participants become more professional and, in some districts, offered extra benefits. A state certificate in the food services is a three-yea- r program. To qualify, a person is given credits for attending certain meetings, conventions and workshops. That person must fulfill clock hours, a total of 30 in three years, Jan continued. Managers and supervisors need more clock hours than the workers. The success of the meeting and demonstration will no doubt be measured during the coming weeks as school lunches feature even more and better Mexican-styldishes. And that should make the kids even happier. e Maestas with Stephanie, Sandy, Amy and feature the singing talents of Kathy Tricia, decorating Theresa Daniels, cakes; Glenda Gunn Heather Case, Linda with Kitchell, square McCauley and Kitchell dancing.
