| Show TELEGRAPH OPERATORS STRIKE chicago men walk out in sympathy with los angeles brethren chicago the telegraph operators employed by the western union in chicago went on strike thursday night at 12 clock the trouble was precipitated by the los angeles strike which was begun two days previous the local executive board 0 the commercial telegraphers union met and passed resolutions requesting the men to refuse to work with non union operators employed in los angeles when the men were notified of this step all operators employed in the overland division of the local office refused to work longer with the non union men on the other end ot the wire after the men and tour women quit work they gather in front of the building where the telegraph office is located and for halt an hour filled the air with cheers and whistles but the police v ere given no cause or the ex arcise ot their authority |
