Each of them have been studying their instrument for a_ different amount of time. The performers are mostly from the Utah Valley area. Saturday's concert will begin with the Concerto for Flute by CW. e to for Flute in G Major by J soloists in the first two move ments are Dallene and Olivia Lowry. Vivaldi. Jill Parkinson, a violin student of Jennifer Garrett, plays the violin concerto Winter from The Four Seasons. These works are programmatic pieces describing the various attributes to each of the seasons. Winter is keyed in the dark tones of C and F minor. This brings the chil! of winter back to the concert hall. Parkinson is 16 years old, and attends OremHigh School Timpview High School's MariLouise Sowell plays another work from the standard flute repertoire. Mozart's Andante in C Major is thought to have first been written as the slow movementof the /st Flute Concerto in G Major, which S composed on commission 2 man named De Jean in De Jean never paid Mozart for the concerto because he thought it was too difficult to play. A sophomore at Provo High School, Helene West, plays the lighthearted Allegretto from B. Godard’s Suite de trois morceaux. Helene is a former student of Jorgensen, and has performed with many choirs and ensembles since moving here fromCalifornia.
