Provo Utah, Wednesday, January 30, 1980 Scouting News Provo Youth Earns Eagle Salem Boy Scout Honored SALEM — Scott Dee Hanks, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Shirl Hanks of Salem, was presented with his Eagle rank in a Court of Honor Scott is 14 ears of age and a student at Spanish Heis the class president this year Fork Junior % He is an enthusiastic sportsman and enjoys fishing hunting and skiing As a Cub Scout he won the three stake Physical Fitness contest as all around athlete. He plays footballin the city leagues. He has been active in the LDS Church and has been president of the deacons quorum. Gregory Ronald Halliday, son of Ron and Irene, plays first violin with the Utah Valley Youth Symphony. He began violin lessons as a seventh grader at the American Fork Junior High and bythe end of the year he achieved hisgoal of first-chair violinist in the school orchestra Greg completed most of the work for his Eagle beforehis 13th birthday and he has served as senior patrol leader. He is active in track and student governmentat school. In church, Greg has been president of his deacons and teachers quorums. Greg looks forward to serving an LDS Church mission and hopes to become a dentist Gregg Peck, son of Bruce and Maradee, is a junior at the American Fork High School. Skiing at Snowbird is his favorite sport and he likes Steve Martin and the Beatles. Gregg has been known to take a neighbor or two on the big ‘‘Snipe Hunt,” but he appreciatesthe real deer hunt best when he goes with his dad, uncles and cousins. Mitchell, a freshman at Timpview High School where he is on the baseball and football teams,is a teacherin his LDS Ward, He wasalso a secretary in the teachers quorum.
