Roberts, 72, the father of Elwin Roberts of Layton, passed away Aug. 6, 1980. He lived in Ogden at the time of his death. Many relatives and friends of the Roberts family who live in Layton attended the funeral services that were held Saturday, Aug. 9, in the Myers Mortuary in Ogden. Truly, A Trooper, Wins Futurity Truly a Trooper, the two year old registered 26. THE TWO year old competed against a field of 112 horses. Of the eight horses who qualified for the race.Tru-l- y a Trooper outdistanced the field by a half a length to win the race which offered S6800 in purse money.
