Chamber mem- bers honored outstanding accomplishments of members and businesses in L v They recognized the service of the 1981 chamber officers and installed new officers for 1982. Dur- ing 1981 the Layton City Chamber of Commerce increased its membership by over 100 percent. Dean Holman the 1981 chamber president, told of the accomplishments the chamber had made during 1981. The bylaws were completely revised and the new bylaws will allow chamber personnel to be more politically active. Also, a chamber office was established; efforts were made to place the chamber out front and to establish a better community image. Harris, Rein Boyce, Dick Cook and Hersh Ipaktchian. Size Softwry tegular Ground Beef County Okays Forest Contract FARMINGTON The county commission has approved a routine contract with the state to provide law enforcement protection on forest land throughout Davis County. UNDER THE contract, the state agrees to reimburse the county up to $3,000 per year for law enforcement service on U.S. Forest Service land. The Davis County Sheriff's Dept, is responsible for law enforcement protection in the forests and mountainous areas and receives an hourly reimbursement from the state for their service. THE CONTRACT, which runs from Oct. 1, 1981 through Sept. 30, 1982, cannot exceed payment of $3,000, Com. Sec- retary Nancy Burningham said. This years contract was approved by the commission and representatives of the sheriff s department.
