' with his new buddy; WHILE PURCHASING two roundtrip airline tinkets for two blind people from Utah to San Rafael, Kathy Thomas listened to Frank Zamora's story of how the Eagles in Utah got started with the guide dog program. Since 1974, 14 blind people in Utah have received guide dogs because of the Eagles. Eight of the people have graduated from colleges in Utah and are leading productive lives in a sighted society. Each year students go to the elementary schools and demonstrate the different facets of the Davis High art program. Also, students participate in major exhbits held in the area. Other workshops and exhibits are planned at Utah State University, Weber State College and Granite High School. Along with the Sterling Scholar competition, the art MR. Three more blind people from Utah will soon be attending the San Davis Countys population of young people is growing rapidly. Projections show that in four years Davis schools will have 12,000 more students than we have on the rolls today. To give you an idea of how many more people that will be, the entire city of Kaysville has less than 12,000 population, The Davis Board of Education is requesting authorization to bond up to $40 million to provide ,tbtassrooms to accommodate this influx of students. This autnorizatWco'Uld lead to additional funding from the State of Utah to assist Davis schools. Bountiful department participates One of the most appreciated. yet least frequented areas of Davis High School, is the Art Department. Well, what some people don't know is that w e have a great art program. Our school artists are able to advance their talents in any number of areas, especially since there are classes for varying degrees of skill in both greneral art and painting. BOTH MRS.
