THERE IS only one national training academy for residential living in the entire Job Corp system. It is located adjacent to the Clearfield Job Corps Center in the renovated Garden Training Buildings. He stated the Training Academy for Residential Living will upgrade residential administration and counselors at all job corp centers. According to Mr. Jaffe. the Job Corp has been able to survive because of its ability to improve, update and adapt to different circumstances. ROBERT SHRAKE, a consultant to the program said through the years Job Corp has been able to maintain a high Incentive equipment, like stereos, have been added to the dorm facilities because of the students good records. SEGMENTS of the training academy program will include: development in counseling techniques focusing on impro- - quality program. This first k training session, that all Job Corp residential' two-wee- living supervisors will take, is only the beginning of an expanded training program including two or three possible training sessions. Goals of the program include: (I) Putting residential advisors on an increased skill level; (2) Increase the contact of the R.A. with the enrollees: (3) Develop a homelike atmosphere; (4) Train RAs to be stu dents personal advisors; (5) Improve social behavior; (6) Develop incentive systems and intergroup relations. AFTER THE visiting administrators listened to the overview presentation, they toured the Clearfield residential living buildings. This was followed by a question and answer session. In the evening the administrators were guests at a reception held in Hotel Utah in SLC.
