ITS TOO bad silent movies are no longer in vogue. Paradise might have been paradise without anyone uttering a word. If you put aside the fact that former Eight is Enough star Willie Aames cannot act, if you can live without meaningful dialogue, suffer through a painfully predictable script and still come out of the theatre entertained, youre one step ahead of the crowd. It is obvious that the movie makers thought they could make a fast buck by exploiting teenagers in sexual situations. But, they make no attempt to entertain us. IN FACT, the only interesting, halfway believable e characters in the film are two chimpanzees. The story begins in 19th Century Baghdad. The frightening part about this film is that we are led to believe that teenagers can fool around and be perfect4y content with the consequences. In the last scene of the film, we see the two lead characters frollicking in the surf. The girl, heavy with child, runs along the beach as if life must go on. 1 O O NO DOUBT teenagers will flock to this clone of nude Blue Lagoon to see the scenes and to find out what the most intimate secret of all really is (as if they didn't already have a fairly good idea). well-publiciz- ed Paradise contains nudity, violence and explicit sexual situations.
