THE LEAGUE voted to undertake a study to evaluate U.S. national security policies and their impact on our domestic programs and our relationships with other nations. The convention also elected Dorothy S. Ridings, a Louisville, Kent, journalist, as the League's new president. In her address to the convention, Ridings said that because of the adoption of the Leagues new study, We have a new opportunity to be a voice of reason and trust in the debate over the national security of this nation. Our role in this issue, as well as our unwavering commitment to preserve and continue the impressive gains in voting rights in environmental protection and in human needs, will serve the nation well. THE LEAGUE readopted its current program which contains positions in the areas of government, natural re- sources, human resources and social policy, and international relations. The convention also authorized an aggressive nationwide membership campaign to involve more citizens in the League's programs and issues. V Finding a doctor is the last thing you want to do when youre sick. But its something you never think about when youre well. So with even a minor illness, many people end up at the hospital Emergency Department because they dont know a doctor to call. No Emergency Department, of course, will ever refuse to treat your common cold. But Emergency Departments are not meant to replace personal physicians or provide you with the same kinds of services. ' Thats why Davis North Medical Center has developed the Physician Information Service. Its a way for new residents, and others without a personal physician, to easily locate a doctor in the specialty they need, convenient to their home or place of work. There is no charge for this . service. reasons. The doctor can get to know you and your medical history and you have the opportunity to talk with the physician to make sure you feel comfortable with him or her. Regular checkups can reveal hidden medical problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure or anemia that often are present but have no symptoms. And should you become ill or have an accident, your physician will be better prepared to offer treatment with knowledge of your medical background. If you dont have a personal physician now, dont wait until youre sick to find one. Call the Physician Information Service offered by Davis North Medical Center. from number is The Ext. 441.
