Show Sports Hells Kitchen Endurance Ride set The Hells Kitchen endurance ride will be held Saturday, May 1 at 7 a.m. Riders sre eipected from all parts of Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho and possibly neighboring counties met at the Gunnison arena and rode out to mark the trail for the rider to follow. The ride will start at the Gunnison arena and rider will ride to the Fayette Ariiona and Nevada. From there they horses for the ride which will circle to the east and will start and finish at the back to the arena. The ride will end at the Gunnison arena. There will also be a ride arena at that time. The in conjunction with this horses and riders will be given an hour's rest ride. Last Saturday, April 17 and another vet check will riders from Sanpete and be held. Then they will go 50-mi- le 25-mi- 25-mi- le 50-mi- northeast to the Gunnison Reservoir where they will have another 15 minute vet check before continuing south along the reservoir, then west across Antelope Valley the arena. The head veterinarian for the ride will be Dr. Jon Hunter from Spanish Fork, Utah, with Dr. King from Gunnison assisting. The veterinarians will check the horses at a vet check Friday, pre-rid- e April 31 to make sure that all the horses are sound and back to and in condition to make the ride. They will also oversee all the vet checks and administer aid to any horse that has problems during the ride. They also have the right to pull any horse from the race that they feel is not in condition to complete without serious injury or pain. The ride is open to all breeds of horses or mules and is being sanctioned by the American Endurance Ride Conference, the Arabian Horse Club, the Appaloosa Horse Club and the POA Horse Club. District 7 Riding Clubs from Sanpete County is sponsoring the ride. Everyone completing by Brace Jennings that Tom Willard-so- n has received his scuba diving certificate, he expects to try something new spear fishing at Fish Lake. And hes also signed up to visit the underwater Indian' ruins in Lake Powell on a guided tour. The class met Friday nights for four hours and Saturday mornings for three weeks and covered instruction in the laws, regulations, safety provisions, equipment uses and dive depth times of scuba diving. Dive depth times involves lengths of time a diver can stay underwater at certain depths to avoid decompression sickness, Mr. Willardson said.
