Show Monti MoMongor, Thursday, July 14, 1983 Manti News Briefs Fiona Hillyard returned to her home in Manti last Thursday evening after an extended visit with her sister and family, John and Bonnie Hopkin of College Station, Texas. an included Hopkins overnight stop in Manti, June 19, following a vacation with their family at Lake Mead. Elona then accompanied them to Provo, Logan and Afton, Wyoming before they returned to Texas. In Logan the five living brothers and sisters of Elona and Bonnie met for a family reunion at the home of Lloyd Gardner. In Afton there were reunions also, it being the former homes of the Gardner and Hopkin families. The While in Texas, Elona honored at a luncheon for a group of Bonnies friends. She played a number of musical selections on the piano for the group. Elona said she was amazed at the beatiful trees, flowers and greenery everywhere, and the hot days were no problem with air conditioning inside. Enroute home on the airplane Elona was given a special pin wings because of it being her first flight by air. Well keep you posted as to where it will be. On Thursday, July 7, 24 senior citizens of the Manti Center enjoyed a trip to American Fork to attend the Utah Pageant of the Arts. Sue Tatton and Lila Keller had the trip in charge. The group enjoyed a delicious meal at the Marie in Orem Calcndara Restaurant before going on to the pageant where curtain time was 8 p.m. One of the best ways to measure people is to watch the way they behave when something free is offered. Dr. Mangelson and Enola served an education mission and lived on the campus at Liahona High School where Dr. Mangelson taught science and modernized and and the chemistry laboratory reviewed the science system.
