Show Community Double wedding Rasmussen sisters plan receptions for Nov. 12 Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rasmussen, Manti, announce the marriage of their daughter Debra to Todd Kent Newman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kent A. Newman, Bothwell, on Nov. 11, 1983. They will be married in the Logan LDS Temple. They will be honored at a reception at the Linderhof Lodge in Sterling on Nov. 12 from 9 p.m. Debra graduated from Manti High School and LDS Seminary. She graduated from Snow College with a secretarial degree. She graduated from the LDS Institute. She sang in the LD Singers for two years. She served two years as the stake Young Adult president. She is presently attending the Beau LaReine College of Beauty in Brigham City, and will graduate in March. 7-- Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rasmussen, Manti, announce the marriage of their daughter Cynthia to Cameron M. Vaughn, son of Ms. Judy Barndt and Mr. James Vaughn of Salt Lake City. They will be married Nov. 10, 1983 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She also graduated from the LDS Business College with high honors. She was president of her sorority. She is presently working as executive secretary in the First Security Bank in Salt Lake City. Cameron graduated from West High School and LDS Seminary where he served a year as president. He was voted "Student of the Month" at West High and played on the football team. He participated in orchestra and pep band, concert band and jazz band. He sang in the a cappella choir. He was listed in Whos Who in Music. Debra Rasmussen and Todd Newman and Arizona. He received a leadership Destiny Lynn Lindsay A daughter, the first child for David and Molly Lindsay, was bom in the Gunnison Valley Hospital, on Oct. 25. She weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. and will be named Destiny Lynn. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Nixon, Covered Bridge Canyon, announce Its a first son for Kay and Mary Ann Thomson. The new baby was born Friday, Sept. 23 in the Sanpete Valley Hospital and weighed 7 lbs. Pleased grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ted Thomson, Ephraim, and Mrs. William Reese, Delta. are Heber and Vinese Tavlor and Mrs. Viola Brenda attended Spanish Fork High School and LDS Seminary, graduating with honors. Madsen, 25, who died in Ephraim, Utah, of cardiac arrest aggravated by an asthmatic attack on Nov. 4, 1983, were held in the Murray Second Ward chapel on Nov. 8, 1983. Interment was in the Murray City Cemetery. Miss Madsen was visiting in Ephraim at the time of her death. The Ambulance Ephraim-Mant- i Assn, responded to an emergency call, but efforts to save her life were unsuccessful. Miss Madsen wasborn on Oct. 14, 1958, in Salt Lake City to Hazen and Maurine Madsen. She was a graduate of Murray High School. She served a mission to the Navajos and Hopis in the Holbrook Arizona LDS Mission. She w as employed as a service representative by Mountain Bell. Miss Madsen is survived by her parents, Murray; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Dale Lee (Linda) Bennett, Carla Madsen, both of West Jordan; Mrs. William (Karen) West, Guam; Harlan Madsen, West Valley City; and several nieces and nephews. Mary Prettym an Mary Prettyman, 84, mother of Mrs. Phem Campbell of Ephraim, passed away at the home of her daughter, Bernice, in Banning, California on Nov. 6. Burial will be in California on Thursday, Nov. 10. Mrs. Prettyman has spent quite some time visiting at Pherns home during the past few years and was loved by those who knew her. Phern has been in California the last month to be with her mother, but expects to be back in Ephraim sometime next week. Irene Jensen Beal Funeral services for Irene Jensen Beal, 93, who died on Nov. 6, 1983 in Salt Lake City, were held in the Colonial Mortuary chapel, Salt Lake City, on Nov. 9, 1983. Interment was in the Manti City Cemetery. Mrs. Beal was bom in Manti, Utah, on Aug. 31, 1890, to Jens Marius and Christine Marie Fredricksen Jensen. She married Ira Allen Beal on July 15, 1908, in Emery, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Mr. Beal preceded his wife In death on April 6, 1969. Mrs. Beal was a charter member of the Ml. Olympus Rcbccca Lodge N' V). Mrs. Jones had resided with her (Louise and daughter and James Borg) in Spokane for the past nine years. She was bom in Manti, Utah, February 19, 1897 to Jedcdiah Grant and Hannah Ellen Merriam Crawford. She married William Richards Jones Sept. 4, 1919 in the Manti LDS Temple. Mrs. Jones graduated from the Manti High School in the Class of 1917. She was a member of the Ladies Literary Club of Manti, of which she served a term as president; The Hopeless Club; the American Legion Auxilliary; and the Daughters' of Utah Pioneers. three daughters: Elbert A., Mrs. Melvin J. (Siva) Rosewold, M. Wayne, Mrs. Ira (Aneita) Olsen, all of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Jack E. (Laura Leila) Binkerd, Bountiful; 20 grandchildren, and 49 Her maternal Isaac and Hannah Merriam Morlcy led the first settlement of Manti. Her father and his brothers were among basic developers of Manti as a business community. She is survived by her daughter, Louise, of Spokane, her son Dean, of Aspen, Colorado and seven grandchildren: Susan, Gregory, and Shannon of Spokane; Kimble of Jacksonville, Florida; Christofcr of Seattle, Wash., Mikel of Austin, Texas; and Kathryn in military service in Okinawa, Japan. Survivors also include three greatAaron Borg, and grandchildren Sarah and Peter Borg of Spokane. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Jones and by two sisters May Crawford Chapman and Jennie Crawford Munk; and three brothers, Merriam, Grant, and Melvin Crawford. Funeral services were held in Manti Second Ward Chapel October 31, 1983. Interment was in the Manti Cemetery. Harold D. Maylett Funeral services for Harold D. Maylett, 66, who died in Tooele, were held in the North Tooele Stake Center on Nov. 9, 1983. Interment fotlowed in a Tooele cemetery. A son of Mr, and Mrs. Franck Maylett, Harold D. Maylett wasborn in Fountain Green, Utah. He attended Manti schools and graduated from Manti High School. He married Katherine Wilson, Gunnison, and their marriage was later solemnized in an LDS temple. Mr. Maylett was an active member of the LDS Church. He had been employed at Dugway Proving Grounds. He is survived by his wife, Tooele; two sons; one daughter; and several grandchildren. the Ephraim Fifth Ward on Sunday, November 6, by his father. Following the services a number of relatives and friends enjoyed dinner at the McCaul home for the happy occasion. Mr. Peacock succeeds Douglas Cox, who was moved up to first counselor in replacement of Lynn Bills, who has left Manti for employment reasons. Mr. Peacock has been the ward's Explorer adviser. He will now be serving in a bishopric headed by Bishop Kenneth Howell.
