Moore, power equipment meters. Manti residents will soon all find themselves with a new attachment on their power meters: a seal to prevent tampering with the meter or its readings. Power Dept. Superintendent Gene Rogers says his crew has been attaching the seals to each meter as they read the power meters this month, and should have every meter in town sealed after next months meter readings. The red seals will show whether meters have been tampered with, and according to City Recorder Bill Mickelson, a number of city ordinances spell out the penalties for damaging or tampering with city Mr. Rogers says he doubts whether any meters at present have been tampered with or adjusted, but the seals are a precaution to assure that no one but qualified persons deal with the meters themselves. If anyone needs to remove a seal or do something involving a meter, they should first call the city hall and clear it with the power crew, and well come up and make sure the meter and seal are in place properly again, Rogers suggests. Mr. Rogers says a number of meters dating from the 1930s are also being phased out and replaced as part of the meter upgrading program within the city. Successor Trustee ROY B.
