Show From the Ephraim Utah Stake Presidency ... From the Manti Utah Stake Presidency Christmas is truly a happy time ofthe year, because we celebrate and honor the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Our hearts are full as we count our many blessings. The carols and traditions of the season remind us of the Savior and His gift to us. While on earth, Jesus lived a perfect life and set a perfect example for us to follow. He made it possible for us to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father when we leave this life. He is our Savior and Redeemer. At this joyful time of the year, we traditionally ex change presents with one another. As we exchange presents, let us also remember to exchange gifts. Presents of material things come and go, and are forgotten. Gifts, however, are everlasting; gifts of love, compassion, service, and understanding, not only for those in need but for all. Everyone needs a gift in his life. Remember, the greatest gift of all came from Jesus Christ, the Redeemer of all, and that gift was eternal life. One of the greatest gifts we can give this Christmas season is to do what He asks of us. At this time of the year we should pour out our hearts in prayers of love and thanksgiving, and resolve anew to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ every day. Have a Merry Christmas. May the gift ofthis season be with you throughout the coming year. About a year and a half ago, I met a young man who explained his philosophy oflife in terms ofa train ride. He said the destination will be glorious. He looks forward to it through daily plans and actions to carry out the plans. He also said he intends to enjoy the ride and each stop along the way. This young man is currently serving a fulltime mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y ... Saints. He teaches about Jesus Christ, the Savior of our world. He testifies of Christ's sacred and humble birth through biblical references in St. Luke and St. Matthew. He can add further testimony of the divinity of the birth of Jesus Christ through prophets on this continent. Nephi, the son of Lehi, records, "Behold, the virgin whom thou seest is the mother of the Son of God, after the manner of the flesh. (1 Nephi 11:18) "And I looked and beheld the virgin again, bearing a child in her arms. And the Angel said unto me; Behold the Lamb of God, yea, even the Son of the Eternal Father." (1 Nephi 11:20,21) These messages are taught from the Book of Mormon, another Testament of Jesus Christ. As your stake presidency we wish you a joyous holiday season and encourage each of you to spend a little time studying and pondering your scriptures, and then share the love of the Savior with those around you.
