Armstrong, president of the Bank of Ephraim, announced his retirement while visiting in California last week. He has served as director and president for a total in both positions of 35 years. Mr. Armstrong continued a family tradition when he became a Director of the Bank in 1956. He was named President in 1978. In these capacities he often represented the Bank at National banking conventions and other conferences. His lifelong residence in Ephraim, his wide acquaintance with many people in Sanpete County and his intimate knowledge of the livestock and farming industries gave him a unique insight that was a major influence in guidingthe Bank of Ephraim and keeping it financially sound. In its meeting of January 8, the current Board of Directors unanimously endorsed a resolution praising Mr. Armstrong for his long and effective service to the bank.
