The custodial supervisor is the first recipient of the newly revived Leonard W. McDonald Commitment to Excellence Award. The citation was presented by UPEA and college officials during a ceremony in the Presidents office at Snow College. Correctional Wally Officer Kenneth Gilbert, Manti, was recognized for his prompt action when an inmate was severely injured by a razor knife with slash across the face. Donaldson, ophthalmologist, eye physician and surgeon, is opening a new practice at Utah Valley Physicians Plaza, 1055 N. 300 W., Suite 204, in Provo, Utah. Donaldson was raised in Provo. He received his B.S. and M.S. in microbiology and virology from BYU. He served as an ophthalmology resident at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, and did his internal medicine internship at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City.
